Creating Two Pictures of Summer Walker

One of the commissions I have been working on the past month is a picture of the esteemed musical artist, Summer Walker. While working, i wound up jumping the gun and finishing a picture before the client was 100 percent entirely sure what they wanted the style to be in.

Initially, we were going for am old timey renaissance feel. Akin to the portraits I have done of Childish Gambino, Jhene Aiko, and etc.. Here are the results of that….

First Picture

I titled this one, “Lady of Summer Walks”.

Just after I finished the above piece, I got a call from the client. I was excited to inform them I finished one of their commissions but they were excited to tell me the new idea that the client wanted to go with. Swallowing my tongue, I cried to myself as they said they wanted an anime style. I said cool and got to work.

Second Attempt

As you may have noticed with your keen eyes, this piece did not end up being finished. Why? Well keep on scrolling.

Before getting too far on this picture, I got another update from the client with a specific image in mind to reference. This would be the last revision…
